Sarajevo International Airport was declared the best European airport in the category up to 1,000.000 passengers on the 15th ACI-EUROPE, AIRPORTS COUNCIL INTERNATIONAL, held in Munich on 22-24 June 2005. In addition to Sarajevo Airport, the following European airports were awarded, too:
Frankfurt - best airport with more than 25 mil. passengers,
Athens - best airport with 10-25 mil. passengers,
Riga - best airport with 1-10 mil. passengers
